After a disappointing season for the Pittsburgh Penguins, missing the playoffs, Penguins fans are hoping for changes. So far, those changes have been in the front office. However, with the hiring of Kyle Dubas, things will certainly be changing, no doubt.
Here are three players that the Hockey Writers believe Dubas must try to add to the Penguins' roster.
Kampf makes a lot of sense for Dubas, as they both know each other well. He is only a free agent due to Leafs cap space. The 28-year-old had 7 goals and 20 assists in 82 games this season.
Wood has become a fan favorite in New Jersey. The 27-year-old is known for his speed and passing. Wood had 13 goals and 14 assists in 76 games this season.
In my opinion, Domi is the best of the three players named. He can play on any line and in any situation. Domi is a fan favorite wherever he's played and would help add some offense to the Penguins. This season, Domi had 20 goals and 36 assists in 80 games between the Chicago Blackhawks and Dallas Stars.
We don't know if Dubas will acquire any of these guys or not, but the Penguins are in desperate need of a retool, and adding some speed and skill would be a welcome addition.
