The National Hockey League trade deadline saw one of the most unexpected moves as the Los Angeles Kings traded their franchise goaltender Jonathan Quick to the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Jackets, however, quickly traded Quick to the Vegas Golden Knights.
Quick talks to the medias for the first time since being traded
Quick expressed his mixed emotions about the trade.
«There's a ton of emotions, obviously, considering how much time my family and I spent there...At the end of the day, they made the decision that was best for their team. It's still a shock when you get the call. You have so many things going through your mind.»
He continued by saying that the move presents a new opportunity and a fresh start for him.
«It's genuine excitement...I hope to be able to help them any way I can.»
He is familiar with several people within the Golden Knights organization, making his transition to Sin City smoother.
«They've been very welcoming. It definitely helps to see some familiar faces Marty (Martinez), Nabber (McNabb), Hutty (Ben Hutton), Ammo (Michael Amadio) and (coach) John Stevens. I just want to fit in and help these guys as much as I can.»
