Jakob Chychrun won't be an Arizona Coyote for too much longer.

After a trade process that's felt like it spanned half a decade, it looks like the Coyotes are finally ready to capitalize on the goldmine they&ve have patrolling their blue line.

With Chychrun being a particularly hot commodity, with his digestible cap-hit and refined style of play, many competitive teams don't have the assets to pull it off.

Per insider Shawn Simpson, however, that won't matter.

Ottawa Senators Set to Acquire Chychrun

The Senators showed last year that they weren't afraid to pay big assets for a player they wanted.

Acquiring Alex DeBrincat at the draft was a testament to the drive of this team moving forward.

While they didn't reach their goals in 2022-23, acquiring a guy like Chychrun would leave them in good shape for the upcoming campaign.



The Senators will have the assets to pull it off, especially considering their valuable first round pick in 2023 being on the table.

It would be a bold move, but with new ownership coming in, and the core of the team starting to define itself, this is the time to be bold.
