Today a pair of original six franchises have decided to place players on waivers. With the trade deadline approaching each and every roster move is crucial in the NHL and these two are no exception.

Two Original Six Teams Place A Player On Waivers

This afternoon two players were placed on waivers for the purpose of being sent to the AHL. One placed on waivers by the Boston Bruins and the other by the Detroit Red Wings.

Steen (BOS) & Luff (DET) on waivers

Oskar Steen placed on waivers by the Bruins was drafted by the Bruins in 2016 and has spent his entire career in the organization. This season in 34 NHL games he has just one point. A move to the AHL could help revitalize his career.

Matt Luff of the Detroit Red Wings on the other hand has not played this season due to injury. He was on injured reserve for the Red Wings and will now return to the AHL to get his game back and going.

If there end up being more developments on the situation involving these two players we will pass that information along to you.
