BREAKING : Bruins without superstar Forward for Game 1
The Boston Bruins will be without one of their top players right before the start of their playoffs.
Bergeron Out With Illness
The Bruins will be without Star Center Patrice Bergeron, who is out with an illness. Bergeron was reportedly a game time decision and it has now been confirmed he will not play.
Goalie Linus Ullmark, who was also reported as a GTD, will play for Boston in Game 1 as the starter against Florida. Jeremy Swayman will be the backup. Pavel Zacha will take Bergeron's spot on the Bruins top line.
Bergeron, who has been one of the top defensive players in the NHL at the age of 37, has been a key part of Boston's President Trophy winning team.
There is currently no timetable for Bergeron's return, or if he will play Game 2.
