According to RDS reporter François Gagnon, the veteran defenseman, who met with the team's new management during the CH's last trip, has formally asked to be traded:
''I did say that Petry asked to be traded.
The information was not confirmed by Hughes who simply told me on Saturday that all the players were in low spirits.
If a trade comes along and it's interesting for the CH, it's fine. We'll see.''

New GM Kent Hughes did confirm that he was open to trading him if the situation arose.
