Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Carter Hart may soon be signing with a new team.

Despite his involvement in the 2018 World Juniors scandal, it seems he's not out of the game just yet.

Former Philadelphia Flyer Carter Hart Eyes Move to KHL Amidst Scandal

With the trial for the scandal still a year away, Hart, currently a free agent making $3.9 million, is reportedly eyeing a move to the KHL in Russia. A recent post on a prominent hockey account hinted at his potential departure.

Drafted by the Flyers in the second round at 48th overall in 2016, Hart was coming off a stellar year where he won the CHL Goaltender of the Year with the WHL's Everett Silvertips. His impressive stats included a 2.14 Goals Against Average and .918 save percentage in 63 games. He clinched the award again in 2018, boasting a remarkable 1.60 Goals Against Average and a .947 save percentage despite only playing 41 games.

Despite facing charges and being banned from playing for Team Canada or in the NHL while awaiting trial, the KHL seems unfazed.

Hart, with a career record of 218-96-93 and a 2.94 goals against average in 227 NHL games with the Philadelphia Flyers over six years, might just find a new home in Russia.

Joining Hart in the scandal were fellow players Dillon Dube of the Calgary Flames Michael McLeod, Cal Foote, of the New Jersey Devils, and former NHL player Alex Formenton, all of whom were charged in the investigation.

The scandal rocked the hockey world, tarnishing the reputations of these promising 25 year-old players.

Now, Hart's career could be taking a major turn, but we'll have to wait and see if the NHL and Canadian authorities give the green light to this move.
