The Colorado Avalanche are bringing back the Nordiques jersey as their alternates in 2025-26, and it perfectly encapsulates both teams to a tee, according to Adrian Dater.
It was only 30 years ago when the Colorado Avalanche were introduced in place of the Quebec Nordiques after the team relocated and quickly became a success story turned into a dynasty.
While the Avs have been great, fans in Quebec have been clamouring for a team once again and the inter-provincial rivalry was huge back in the day.
Colorado Avalanche's Third Jersey Rumored to Be Nordiques-Inspired
Well, it looks like Colorado is going to be paying homage to the Nordiques this upcoming seasons as it was announced they would be bringing back the hybrid Quebec/Colorado jerseys from 2021.

While rumored, we can confirm that the jerseys are going to be making a return thanks to analyst Adrian Dater.
Dater writes regarding the returning threads:
Remember back in the Covid-shortened season of 2020-21, when the Avalanche suddenly sported super nice reverse retro jerseys with a Quebec Nordiques theme? They were wildly popular, but a lot of people who wanted them didn't get them - because of supply issues exacerbated by the pandemic.
Well, good news: they're coming back.
There is a chance though, they will join the Maple Leafs in blue as that third jersey might end up being the old Nordiques away jersey.

If this in indeed true and all indicators show it is, there is a potential we could see former teams making returns via their team's alternate jerseys such as the Minnesota North Stars, Hartford Whalers, and California Seals.
It's a great tribute to a team that has such a rich history and a huge fanbase even though they haven't been in at the league for a long time.
With talks of expansion on the horizon there is a potential that Quebec can get a team back again, although other cities may hold the advantage strictly on the basis of being in America.
