Ryan O'Reilly is one of the biggest names on the rental market. The 2019 Conn Smythe winner is an ideal piece for any team to bring in for a playoff berth.

We now know the two teams that are the most interested in acquiring St-Louis' Captain.

It has already been reported that the Toronto Maple Leafs have had internal discussions regarding O'Reilly.

If they could find a way to pull it off, O'Reilly could be the piece that gets the team past the first round.

However, there is one other team that is strongly in the mix.

O'Reilly's career began after being a second round pick of the Colorado Avalanche. Now, it appears a reunion could happen. With the Avalanche weak at the centre position, O'Reilly's defensive centre skills could be paramount for the team to go for another title. His playoff pedigree is equally appealing.

O'Reilly has no trade protection, and won't have much of a choice on where he's sent. It appears, however, that if the right package exists, he'll be headed to either Toronto, or Colorado.
