Things are Just Getting Worse For Shane Wright
This draft day picture features Shane Wright meeting Seattle Kraken head coach Dave Hakstoll for the first time.
Needless to say, the excited smile that Wright had on draft day is gone, and he and Hakstoll are far from friends.
Shane Wright has been scratched for three straight games, and he will scratched for a fourth tonight against New York. This will equally be the eighth time in ten games that Wright will watch from the press box.
At a certain point, something's got to give, as Wright playing this little can't be good for his development.
He could be sent down to the OHL, which seems like the ideal situation, but GM Ron Francis doesn't seem to keen on the idea.
If Wright is scratched for six consecutive games, he can be loaned to the AHL, but it would only be for a maximum of two weeks.
It appears Wright will just have to live with five minutes of ice time a week until he can go to the World Junior Championships.
Hopefully things will turn around for the fourth overall pick.
