The Dallas Stars Have Officially Completed the Most Incredible Regulation Comeback of All Time
The Dallas Stars are having an amazing season. While they appeared to be destined to be on the fringe of the playoffs, they now appear to be a real cup contender.
In fact, analytics show they may even be the favorite for the 2022-23 Stanley Cup.
The mix of some of the best young players in the league, and seasoned veterans playing to the best of their ability has made the team a true threat.
Yesterday, the team seemed off their game. At 9:37 in the third period, the Stars allowed the Chicago Blackhawks to score a fourth goal, putting them down 4-1. By the end of the period, they won 6-4.
As @OptaStats on Twitter discovered, this is a feat that no other team has ever done.
No other team in NHL history has allowed a goal that late in the game to fall behind by 3+ goals and yet came back to win in regulation.
If the Dallas Stars can pull this off, who knows how far they could go.
