Sidney Crosby's been the face of the NHL for a generation. The 2005 1st overall pick has scored over 1400 career points, and brought three Stanley Cups to Pittsburgh.

However, as Crosby is set to turn 36, his future in the league will only be so long. While Connor McDavid is there to be the best player in the league right now, and Nathan Mackinnon is essentially Crosby's little brother, a new face will be entering the NHL that could wipe all of them out of the dust.

When asked about several players in the league, Crosby was candid about the developing skills of this new generation:

On Alex Ovechkin:

Oh yeah. We have a lot to catch up on.

On Connor McDavid:

Every year he just gets better. He's dominating. It's scary.

On the 2023 Boston Bruins:

Boston is just a different breed right now.

And finally on Connor Bedard:

No weaknesses.

With Connor Bedard's 35-game point streak where he scored 44 goals and 90 points ending last night, it's safe to say Crosby will have a worthy replacement once he's retired!
