Kingston Frontenacs OHL prospect Shane Wright will officially meet Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens tomorrow at the opening of the National Hockey League Combine.
Sportsnet host Jeff Marek had this to say about the big day for all prospects.
This week marks the start of the NHL Combine in Buffalo. There will be player interviews and the players will put themselves to the test. All eyes are on Shane Wright, many believe he will be selected first overall and Montreal has that first pick, they are also hosting the draft. On Monday, Shane Wright will have his first conversation with the Montreal Canadiens, mentioned Marek.
He went on to add:
« Also, interestingly, once the Combine is over, the New Jersey Devils will send Shane Wright to New Jersey for an extended interview series. »
Wright, 18, has 94 points (32 goals, 62 assists), 22 penalty minutes and a plus-23 rating this season. He then added 14 points (three goals, 11 assists) in 11 playoff games.
