The Toronto Maple Leafs need another goalie and apparently have a short list of netminders that include 5 names. According to Darren Dreger of TSN, one of those names in Martin Jones who was recently bought out by the San Jose Sharks.
The Leafs have also been linked to Darcy Kuemper of Arizona, Braden Holtby of Vancouver, and free agent Petr Mrazek.
Jones had a difficult season. His 3.28 GAA and.896 save percentage were among the worst among NHL starters. He clearly needs a change of scenery and will be looking to regain his LA Kings form. His numbers have dipped each season with the Sharks, who are not known for their defensive prowess.
The Maple Leafs are interested in Jones, as are the Chicago Blackhawks, if Marc-Andre Fleury retires, and the Washington Capitals, who lost a netminder in the expansion draught.
