OFFICIAL: New York Rangers to Re-Acquire Winger
At last years' trade deadline, the New York Rangers paid a fourth-round pick to acquire Tyler Motte.
Motte helped the team make the Eastern Conference Finals, and clearly endeared himself to the Rangers management.
Per Senators insider Bruce Garrioch, Motte will be headed back to New York after signing as a free agent with Ottawa.
The Sens made it official with this tweet:
They will acquire Julien Gauthier and a conditional 7th round pick.
If the Rangers make it past the first round in the playoffs, the pick will change to the lower of the two 6th round picks the Rangers own in 2023.
