Nazem Kadri has a message for the Maple Leafs
Nazem Kadri's story is one for the ages. While being the third line center in Toronto he was never able to keep his discipline and help his team during the playoffs.
A trade to another team was imminent. That's when Joe Sakic took a risk with Kadri and it surely paid off!
He has quite some words for Toronto during his cup celebration.
Kadri on the 'what if' Cup factor had he won as a Leaf: «It is what it is. At the end of the day, that wasn't my decision (to leave), Regardless of who takes a chance on me, I'm going to give them everything I have. I've great Toronto supporters and that's never gonna change»
Kadri says a few ex-Leaf teammates are invited to a private Toronto party tonight with him and the Cup.
«I won't spill the beans (on which Leafs he'll be meeting) for their sake, but it will be quite the celebration.»
At the end of the day, winning the Stanley Cup is a teams effort and the Maple Leafs cannot blame Nazem Kadri for their failures.
