New Florida Panthers forward Matthew Tkachuk reacted to his trade on Friday night.
I narrowed my list down to three or four teams that I was willing to join and I stayed true to that throughout the process," noted Tkachuk, more than happy to pack his bags for Florida.
"I don't know how many teams wanted my services and how many didn't, but I chose the Panthers first because they are a great team and they have a great chance to win. They have put themselves in a good position in the last few years to do that. Hopefully I can be the missing piece."
Why would you want to leave Calgary?
"Outside of the rink, it's a great place to live. To imagine myself there for the next eight years, maybe even the rest of my career... I wouldn't want to be anywhere else but Florida, it's really exciting."
