On the JiC show on TVA Sports, reporter Renaud Lavoie made a statement about the Habs' defensemen.
According to him, with only three healthy veteran defensemen at the moment, David Savard, Mike Matheson and Chris Wideman, the Habs will have to move.
« It wouldn't surprise me if the Canadiens traded," Renaud Lavoie told JiC on Friday.
"Do you really want to have three defensive rookies on any given night in the National League? The answer is no. You're probably going to get a role player who can stabilize things a little bit. You're going to give your young defensemen some oxygen. »
Will Kent Hughes get better in net, too?
« They're the only team that only has three goalies under contract to play in the National Hockey League," said Lavoie. Most teams have four, five or six... that's the norm. It will be an important issue to watch between now and the opening game. »
