Last week it appeared that the ties were cut between Jakub Vrana and the Detroit Red Wings. Reports indicated he would never play for them again. However, today, this appears to have changed.

A report from David Pagnotta indicates that Vrana will receive a callup today and rejoin the Red Wings. This comes after a great run with Grand Rapids of the AHL, and only two days after Vrana expressed his desire to stay with the Red Wings long-term.

What seemed unlikely a week ago is now an actuality. Perhaps for showcase purposes? Nevertheless, I'm hearing the Red Wings are calling up Jakub Vrana from the AHL.

This could very well be just a showcase for Vrana, who will be a desirable trade target in the off-season, but we are sure Vrana is hoping this is the reunion he was hoping for.

We will see how this all unfolds in Detroit.
