According to Jimmy Murphy of Montreal Hockey Now, Kent Hughes inquired about Jesse Puljujarvi during the July 7-8 draft.

The Finn, a member of the Edmonton Oilers, agreed on the terms of a one-season contract at $3M yesterday.

We must believe that the price to pay was high, because let's remember in the last few days the disappointment of Ken Holland, the Oilers' GM, who had shared his dismay about the lack of offer received for his big winger.

Now that he has signed a contract and that the price is affordable, the demand is likely to increase.

Puljujarvi, 24, had 36 points in 65 games last season with the Edmonton Oilers.
