The general manager of the Montreal Canadiens met with the media, the day after the opening of the free agent market.
The main topic was Jeff Petry. Hughes' number one priority is to trade him.
« We're talking to a few teams about Jeff Petry. That's our priority." -Kent Hughes
However, the team will not trade him at any price.
« We don't want to keep salary or get our hopes up for another team to take him. We don't have a lot of depth right now on the blue line." - Kent Hughes on Jeff Petry .
Hughes says he doesn't want to do what the Sharks did when they withheld 33% of Brent Burns' salary and sent him to Carolina.
