According to what Sportsnet's Eric Engels reports on BPM Sports, the Montreal Canadiens are reportedly close to reaching an agreement with Kirby Dach and we've just learned the terms of the deal.
"As I just mentioned on the air with @MartinLemay at @bpmsportsradio, Elliotte Friedman and I have been checking in on Kirby Dach's status over the past week and all indications are that one of the options being discussed is a 4-year contract at about $3.5 million per year. I won't be surprised if that's where it lands." - Eric Engels
The salary would be higher and the contract longer than originally expected, according to several experts, who didn't see a salary above $2.5 million a year.
Dach has tremendous potential, but his stats from the most recent campaign have turned many off.
In 70 games with the Blackhawks last season, the third overall pick in 2019 had 26 points.
