By trading Jonathan Huberdeau and MacKenzie Weegar, the Florida Panthers were expecting to lose their services in the summer of 2023, as both players will become uncompensated free agents.
An article about Jonathan Huberdeau, dating back to April 2021, resurfaced this morning, following his trade to Calgary.
The Quebecer has always wanted to play with the Habs. Huberdeau told host Louis Jean and subscribers of the Club des 10 de la Fondation du CHUM at the time.
"For sure you wonder if you're going to be able to play for Montreal. It's a beautiful city and that's where I come from. It's always been a dream of mine to play for Montreal," said the St. Jerome native.
