Florida Panthers forward Jonathan Huberdeau met with the media while visiting his former hometown, St. John's, when he played junior hockey.
Huberdeau commented on the coaching change in Florida.
« He's experienced and he's won a lot," Huberdeau said between periods at the Memorial Cup on Saturday. I can't wait to see what adjustments he makes. I don't know his system.
"I've heard him talk a lot and he's very articulate. I've been around him at a world championship too and he was nice. He wants to win and he's passionate about hockey. »
Huberdeau was visibly disappointed with the elimination against the Lightning in the second round of the playoffs.
« You have to learn. We had a good team and we thought we were going to go further," admitted Huberdeau, who set a personal high with 115 points in the regular season. To lose in four games, especially to Tampa, is not easy. But we have a good team. We're going to come back strong next season. »
