After the game against the Hurricanes, Jake Allen spoke out about the penalty he received for delay of game.
"It's something that happens a lot in the league now. The shots are powerful and it causes a lot of pressure on the masks. I think it's something that will have to be discussed.
"I understand that when the puck is near the net or the other team has a chance to score, I have to keep my mask on. (With a strap off) it's not comfortable and the vision is not as good. I've already been told that if there's not an immediate chance to score, I can take it off. That's why I had it off at that point." - Jake Allen
Allen was angry something rare.
"There was no way I was going to let them score a goal during my penalty. No way. I was angry and it's very rare that I am." - Jake Allen
