The arranged marriage of Patrik Laine and the Columbus Blue Jackets seems to be on the verge of breaking up.
Laine is a pending restricted free agent who was acquired from the Winnipeg Jets in a blockbuster exchange for Pierre-Luc Dubois. According to his remarks to Finnish-language publication YLE, he hasn't had the easiest time in his new home this season.
Take a look at some of Laine's thoughts on his season with the Blue Jackets (translated from Finnish):
"I can't even stand hockey right now. [This season] was an absolutely miserable experience team-wise and personally. Only good thing is that the season is over. Everything that could've gone wrong, went wrong."
Does that sound like a guy who wants to get to the negotiation table and sign a long-term contract with his team?
