Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman joined the Jeff Marek Show Tuesday to discuss the Vegas Golden Knights and their potential cap issues regarding activating Jack Eichel. The two discussed whether or not Golden Knights general manager Kelly McCrimmon will be forced to make some trade that Golden knights rather not do otherwise.
Elliotte Friedman shared that he talked with the Golden Knights GM earlier in the day. Currently, the Golden Knights have defenceman Alec Martinez on LTIR who has a $5,250,000 annual salary.
"One of the things that Vegas had made clear is that they don't rush into anything because people get hurt. They have had Pacioretty get hurt, they have other guys get hurt, and they're not going to do anything until they know that Eichel is 100% ready,» said Friedman.
Among the names mentioned as potential trades for Vegas, Elliotte Friedman speculates Mattias janmark and Reilly Smith, while Jeff Marek suggested that he believes William Karlsson will also get moved to make that $10 million dollar cap hit of superstar center Jack Eichel.
