The Montreal Canadiens are dead last in the NHL and with that comes all the trade talks. Now another trade possibility comes from the Youtube show Habs Tonight's Drew Dekes. He believes the Canadiens should deal Habs goaltender at the trade deadline.
Dekes suggested that Habs General Manager Kent Hughes should trade goaltender Jake Allen to the Edmonton Oilers. The Canadiens were believed to previously be in talks with the Edmonton Oilers over potentially trading Carey Price to the Oilers but those talks ended after Price has been having more issues with his knee.
The Montreal Canadiens acquired Jake Allen in September of 2020 for a 3rd and 7th round draft picks. Allen currently has one more year left under his current contract that pays him a $2,875,000 annually.
Allen has a 5-16-2 record with a 3.15 goals against average and a .901 save percentage. Jake Allen is still out with a lower body injury. Injury that happened on January 12th when the Habs played the Boston Bruins.
