Habs start the weekend off with a trade for a goalie
The Montreal Canadiens and Minnesota Wild came together on a trade on Saturday, with the Habs addressing a need in goal by bringing in 56-game NHL veteran Andrew Hammond.
Brandon Baddock, a 26-year-old AHLer who has spent the last two seasons with the Laval Rocket is headed back the other way in the deal.
Hammond last played an NHL game during the 2017-18 season for the Colorado Avalanche. In 56 career NHL games, Hammond has some surprisingly good numbers, owning a 27-15-6 record with a career .923 SV%.
The 34-year-old goaltender has played 11 games in the AHL with the Iowa Wild this season. He owns a 6-2-3 record to go along with a 2.44 GAA and a .908 SV%
