Fraser Minten is one of the Toronto Maple Leafs' top prospects. He was drafted in round two, #38 overall, in 2022. Minten made the Maple Leafs roster out of training camp, but was sent back down after just four games where he recorded no points.
What did Minten do after being sent down
After playing in four games for Toronto, Minten was returned to his junior club in the WHL, the Kamloops Blazers, where he was named captain. Additionally, he posted 10 points in seven games.
Minten was then traded in a blockbuster deal to the Saskatoon Blades, where he suited up for six games so far, scoring five points. He was selected to the Team Canada training camp for the World Junior Championship.
Minten on Tavares and playing for Team Canada
The snipped of the Minten interview is here
Minten was living with Maple Leafs captain John Tavares when he made the Maple Leafs out of training camp. Tavares' children are fans of Minten as well.
"His kids are great. Hopefully they can cheer me on if I am there in Sweden."
On his experience living with Tavares and seeing how the professional hockey players live.
"You think its sick that they get to play the sport, but it is a career for them. [...] Getting to be a part of his family [is] eyeopening to see that these guys have a lot more going on than just the game."
Minten should be one of Team Canada's top players, and Leafs fans should be happy to watch him play.
