It's just one of those things you know is going to happen toward the end of the year when you're signing young guys and getting free agents out of college, they're going to give them a chance to play," said Yandle on Saturday.
"You've got to respect that out of the business side of it and what they're trying to do here," he added.
Now that his Ironman streak will be interrupted, one has to question how long Yandle will continue to play in the National Hockey League. When asked about his future attitude, Yandle delivered the traditional hockey player response.
"My mindset is to get better in practice, work on things and try to get back in the lineup and help the team win games," said Yandle.
