After the game between the Flames and Lightning, Calgary head coach Darryl Sutter was asked how he found the game of his young rookie Jakob Pelletier.
He asked the media what your number was, took the game sheet and mentioned this:
"At 21 years old, he has a long way to go."
Here is the video of the interview:
These comments have unsurprisingly sparked anger from fans, who are sick and tired of Sutter's disdain for young players.
Another wild fact that comes to mind in this situation is that Pelletier is the first player born in the 21st century to ever suit up for the Flames. They are the last team in the NHL to finally reach this achievement, that frankly should have come a year or two ago at the minimum.
If this is the way Sutter treats his rookies, it could possibly sway the likes of top-prospect
Matthew Coronato, who will have the option to walk to free agency rather than sign Calgary.
That is, if Sutter keeps his job.
