FREE PIZZA today in Montreal
During the Habs' incredible playoff run this year, forward Phillip Danault started a new tradition: Every time his team won a round, he would show up at his media availability with a slice of pizza in hand to celebrate the Habs' victory.
It was after the last game of the series against the Toronto Maple Leafs (1st round), the last game of the series against the Winnipeg Jets (2nd round) and the last game of the series against the Vegas Golden Knights (3rd round) that Danault came to the microphone with his pizza slice.
This tradition continued all the way to the Stanley Cup finals where the Habs finally lost in 5 games to the Tampa Bay Lightning.
If CH fans did not have a parade of champions this week, unlike the Lightning, they will still have a little balm on their hearts today as the Pizza Pizza chain will offer free pizza slices in honor of Danault and his teammates and to highlight the Montreal Canadiens' memorable run.
According to the Montreal Gazette, the Montreal locations will be participating in the promotion. To get your free tip, you will have to show up at one of the participating locations between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm with your Pizza Pizza app on your smartphone.
