The good news finally arrived Friday morning: the Tempe city council voted to negotiate with the Arizona Coyotes on a proposed $1.9 billion development that would include a new arena for the franchise.
After a seven-hour meeting that included comments from more than 100 citizens and the reading of more than 220 written statements, the council voted 5 to 2 in favour.

In the agreement, they get a 30 year «non-relocation» commitment from the NHL, courtesy of NHL commissioner Gary Bettman.
