The tale of David Ayres is one of the most renowned in the modern era of the NHL. When both James Reimer and Frederik Andersen went down with injury, it came down to the EBUG at Scotiabank Arena. This EBUG was Ayres, a Zamboni driver for the Toronto Marlies who hadn't played professional hockey in years. Miraculously, Ayres squeaked out with a win, thus sparking this legend of modern hockey. Unfortunately, now, it appears that Ayres may not be the folk hero he was once thought to be. His wife, Sarah Ayres went to Twitter to speak out.

https://twitter.com/houlie_s/status/1589014707704582146

https://twitter.com/houlie_s/status/1589284110543237124

It is disheartening to see this happen, and hopefully Sarah will be okay.
