David Pastrnak's first public appearance since the death of his newborn child
David Pastrnak, a winger for the Boston Bruins, revealed the death of his infant son Viggo Rohl Pastrnak in June. On June 17, his girlfriend, Rebecca Rohlsson, gave birth to Viggo. Six days later, the baby died. The cause of death hasn't been revealed.
Pastrnak shared the tragic news on his own Instagram account, which read: «We have an Angel watching over us and we call him SON. You will always be loved. Please keep our privacy in mind as we go through these difficult times.»
Pastrnak had spent the majority of the offseason away from the spotlight, and it was a difficult period for him. Throughout the season, he expressed his and Rohlsson's delight about the impending birth of their baby. He'd decorated the room and erected a crib... He needed the time apart from the attention of his admirers.
The NHL shared photos taken by Pastrnak while he was gone at the 55th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival on Tuesday. He made a point of complimenting his girlfriend on her magnificent gown.
