According to Elliotte Friedman, Sharp is returning to his origins as a coaching advisor with the men's hockey team at the University of Vermont. He played with them from 2000-2002 before going on to the NHL.
Friedman does not mention if Sharp will remain an on-air talent for NBC Sports, he who has been so good in this positon. He is excellent at communicating his thoughts to the viewers at home, but might now be forced to come on as a special guest instead.
