In an interview with Martin Lemay on BPM Sports, former Montreal Canadiens Corey Perry broke his silence regarding his departure from Montreal.

Why did he leave? Because Julien BriseBois offered him a two-year contract, contrary to Marc Bergevin who offered him one year.

Listen to his statement here:

At 37 years old, it's easy to see why Perry made this decision. Getting a contract at an advanced age, even if you're a Stanley Cup winner and a leader, can be a daunting task in today's hockey.

In 29 games this season, the CH veteran has 13 points, including five goals.
