A few days ago, we saw one of the biggest trades in the last few years.
A trade between the Florida Panthers and the Calgary Flames:
Florida:
Matthew Tkachuk +
Conditional 4th round pick 2025 (which may become a 4th round pick 2026)
In Calgary:
Jonathan Huberdeau +
MacKenzie Weegar +
Cole Schwindt +
Conditional 1st round pick 2025 (may become a 1st round pick 2026)
As a result, you can guess that the rosters of the two teams involved are shaken up quite a bit.
So here are the new (projected) Calgary Flames trios and duos:
FORWARDS
Jonathan Huberdeau - Elias Lindholm - Tyler Toffoli
Blake Coleman - Mikael Backlund - Andrew Mangiapane
Jakob Pelletier - Sean Monahan - Dillon Dube
Milan Lucic - Adam Ruzicka - Kevin Rooney
DEFENDERS
Noah Hanifin - Rasmus Andersson
MacKenzie Weegar - Chris Tanev
Oliver Kylington - Nikita Zadorov
Despite the bad news of the last few weeks, we can see here that the Flames will be able to present a very interesting and competitive line-up for the upcoming season. Hats off to the GM!
Who is the better team now after the Huberdeau/Tkachuk trade?
