In his "NHL Trade Big Board" article in The Athletic, Custance said, "The Canucks have huge contract negotiations to do with RFAs Quinn Hughes and Elias Pettersson this summer and cap space is at a real premium in Vancouver. An inordinate amount of poor contracts on the books on top of those two deals may not give the club the flexibility to pay Boeser, whose actual salary this season is $7.5 million heading into his arb year."
«They're open to moving Boeser,» said a source to Custance. «I like him and he's a good kid. He can shoot the puck and he can score. He's injured a lot but I do like him.»
Boeser, 24, played in all 56 regular season games for Vancouver during the 2020-21 season. In those 56 games, the Burnsville, Minnesota native tallied 49 points (23 G, 26 A), 16 penalty minutes, and was a -3.
«I think there's going to be a lot of upheaval around the entire league.»
