According to informant Patrick Lortie, Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes has inquired about Arizona Coyotes defenseman Jakob Chychrun.
« An executive of the Montreal Canadiens shared with us an interesting information that the team was in talks with the Coyotes about Jakob Chychrun during the summer. He would not confirm if a deal was close, but said "there were discussions and the price was very high. We backed out". »
Obviously, Bill Armstrong wants the moon to trade his young defenseman and we can understand, considering that the Coyotes are rebuilding.
But let's face it, Kent Hughes did the right thing by not mortgaging the future to acquire him, despite his talent.
