Montreal Hockey Now's Marc Dumont's article about Josh Anderson was enough to get the world talking and speculating about some destinations for him.
TSN reporter Salim Nadim Valji made this statement on his Twitter account:
He is a player that the Calgary Flames have had very real and significant interest in the past, and I wonder if they could acquire Josh Anderson (salary held back by Montreal), as they look to have some more depth up front.
The Flames have been looking for a big power forward to play with Kadri on the second line.
Considering that he has a contract until 2026-2027, it would be very surprising if the CH withheld salary, but you never know.
One thing is certain, Anderson would fit 100% into coach Darryl Sutter's style of play.
Since the beginning of the season, the Habs' forward has five points in 12 games.
