Brad Marchand has had his target on Mitch Marner for years.

It started before Mitch Marner signed his $10,903,000-annual extension with the Leafs, when Marchand went public saying he thought his compatriot deserved $12-million. This was obviously a ploy to put the Leafs into cap-hell.

Now, before their matchup tonight, Marchand has brought back up his love for Marner.

When asked about Michael Bunting, Marchand immediately changed the topic:

I have not had a whole lot of chatter with Bunting. There's not really many guys who like to get into it. Mitch is out there talking about video games and his dog and those terrible new skates that he has got out.

Marner premiered his new pink skates this morning:

Then Marchand flipped the script and complemented Marner:

I respect his game. I think he's an incredible player and that's usually what I tell him, that he's my favourite player. But I think he's really good. When not playing them, I enjoy watching him.

Marchand really is a personality, isn't he?
