Bad news for the Florida Panthers as defenseman Aaron Ekblad had to leave the game in the second period of Monday night's game against the Boston Bruins and did not return to the game afterwards.
Now, a not-so-encouraging piece of information has surfaced, as reporter Andy Slater talks about a "grade 2 groin strain" that could cause him to miss several weeks of activity.
This type of injury greatly affects the muscle and may require a long period of rest. Since hockey players put a lot of strain on the groin while skating, this injury can take a long time to fully heal.
An absence of three to six weeks for Aaron Ekblad is possible, if Slater's information is true. This could be extended if the groin does not heal properly before returning to play.
