Goaltender Casey DeSmith of the Pittsburgh Penguins will miss the rest of the postseason after undergoing core muscle surgery on Friday, according to head coach Mike Sullivan.

With Tristan Jarry out with a foot injury, DeSmith was named the Penguins' starter heading into the playoffs.
