Earlier today, TSN's Darren Dreger reported that tensions were rising between Jim Rutherford and the Vancouver Canucks.
Dreger stated that a deal between the two parties is likely soon. He also stated that it is unsure if Rutherford will serve as president or as both president and general manager.
It is now confirmed, he will serve as president of hockey operations and interim GM.
Rutherford was the Pittsburgh Penguins' general manager last season. He left the squad in early 2021, albeit voluntarily, as he was not sacked. While his departure was never verified, many speculated he was simply seeking a change of scenery.
Isn't he too old? What do you think?
