According to Darren Dreger of TSN, Montreal Canadiens defenseman Ben Chiarot is now of interest to the Minnesota Wild.

However, Bill Guerin doesn't like the price tag, which is at least a first round pick.

Note that the Habs are also interested in acquiring young prospect Jack McBain. Conversely, the Wild are asking for a second round pick.

Will the two teams be able to find a common ground? It is certain that if the Habs acquire Jack McBain, Kent Hughes will have to come to an agreement with him beforehand, otherwise, it will clearly be a disaster.

Other teams in the derby.

On Pierre LeBrun's side, he mentions that the Flames, Hurricanes, Panthers and Blues would be very interested in acquiring Ben Chiarot

LeBrun says that in Calgary, they are not sure to trade their young prospect Jakob Pelletier.
