All is not well for Andrei Markov in Russia. The former Tricolore defenseman was suspended for a year and a half for failing to take a drug test.
The reason for this absence is quite simple, Markov is not playing anymore and is about to start a coaching career.
He would have had to provide a letter stating that he had retired in order to be exempted, which he did not do.
As a result, his coaching career with Vityaz will have to wait at least 18 months. Markov played his last years with Ak Bars and Lokomotiv.
