A Trade is Pending for the Edmonton Oilers to Acquire a New Defenseman
NHL insiders have now leaked a trade that will send Montreal Canadiens defenseman Joel Edmundson, along with Canadiens forward Jonathan Drouin to the Edmonton Oilers.
The trade would be a true blockbuster, and would be big changes to both teams involved.
According to the Twitter Account Hockey 24/7, the deal is imminent:
A deal is close between Edmonton and Montreal. The deal would be Drouin and Edmundson to Edmonton and yes Edmundson would be playing in Edmonton. #oilers #GoHabsGo #edmundsoninedmonton
The return would be as such:
Hearing goaltender Olivier Rodrigue, prospect Tyler Tullio and a 2023 first round pick.
Deal would be almost done, Holland would like to make the pick top 3 protected but MTL's front office are pushing to make it unprotected.
More details to come

With the Oilers in desperate need for a blueliner, they will have to pay this luxury for Edmundson.
We're sure Montreal isn't complaining!
