Adam Jiricek, brother of David, currently playing for the Blue Jackets, is regarded as one of the top prospects for the 2024 NHL draft.
"Adam Jiricek- One of the most exciting top prospects available for the 2024 NHL Draft"

Being a 17-year-old in a men's league presents its share of challenges. While some players have already undergone physical maturation and can handle the rigors, others, like Jiricek, may find themselves less prepared.
Last night, in a game, the defenseman, weighing in at 152 pounds, was on the receinving end of a brutal hit by a player nearly 50 pounds heavier and a decade older.
"Here was the hit on 17-year-old, 152-pound defenceman Adam Jiricek in the Czechia Extraliga by 27-year-old, 201-pound Jan Scotka yesterday. Exhibit A for why you shouldn't rush kids into men's leagues. This wasn't easy to watch."

Thankfully, there is positive news regarding Jiricek's condition. Here's an update on his well-being:
"Spoke with David Jiricek this morning. His brother is now dealing with a concussion, which is bad, but no other broken bones or sprains from this hit ... which is good."

Stay tuned for more updates.
